RTV 2 Silicone rubbers for molds

PoolKemie® provides a large range of RTV2 silicone rubbers for molds (poly-condensation and poly-addition) with different properties, according to specific application.

Bicomponent silicone rubbers are used for the realization of flexible matrices, they are liquid and fliud suitable to be applied by casting (pouring the liquid silicone rubbers on the model).

RTV2 silicone rubbers for molds are liquid or pasty silicone elastomers reticulating at room temperature. After the addition of appropriate catalyst they form a stable and not reversible compound characterized by high elasticity and mechanical resistance. Owing to their high chemical-mechanical properties combined with easy workability, the RTV2 silicone rubbers are suitable for making flexible moulds and matrices to reproduce, starting from an original model, hand-made articles of any kind and form, in different applicative sectors. Silicone moulds, owing to their anti-adherence features, allow an easy demoulding of models and assure extreme faithfulness in the reproduction of details. Casting silicone rubbers.

Materials mainly used for the reproduction of hand-made articles, from silicone rubber matrices: resins (Unsaturated polyester resins, epoxy resins, polyurethane resins and acrylic resins), Polyurethane elastomers, Natural waxes and synthetic, Plasters and cements, Low-melting point alloy and Wood imitation (PU resin).

Sector	Description
Industry: RTV 2 silicone rubbers	Liquid silicone rubbers. Moulds for production of natural and synthetic wax decorative candles, of element for garden furniture, technical articles, toys etc… Some particular kind of RTV2 silicone rubbers are used in the shoe industry for the creation of aluminium matrices to reproduce soles for footwear. Special silicones for food sector (cake shop moulds, chocolate).
Architectonic restoration	Liquid bicomponent casting silicone rubbers. Moulds for the reproduction and restoration of plaster or cement architectonic features (decorated columns, rosettes, etc…), starting from an original model. RTV2 silicone rubbers are used in this field for their extreme faithfulness in the reproduction of details.
Applied Arts and artistic foundry	Liquid bicomponent casting silicone rubbers. Moulds for the reproduction of statues, cornices and artistic works, religious articles, friezes of wood imitation, artistic ceramics. Moulds for the production of bronze statues using the lost-wax method. Owing to their high temperature resistance, some particular types of elastomers are also suitable for the use in the artistic foundry, allowing to pour low-melting point alloy into the mould.
Building	Liquid bicomponent casting silicone rubbers. Moulds for production of precasted concrete elements.
Rapid prototyping	Liquid bicomponent casting silicone rubbers. Moulds for production of prototypes.
Modelling	Moulds for the serial reproduction of resin articles (for example models in scale of ships, cars, airplane, toy-soldiers). Silicone rubbers are used to make the moulds in order to assure faithfulness in reproducing original model forms and details. Pouring polyurethane resins are the most used materials for reproducing models.
Handicraft	Liquid bicomponent casting silicone rubbers. Moulds for the production of handicraft articles in resin or plaster.
Pad printing	for the production of inking-pad for thermoplastic ink printing.
Special effects and scenography	Liquid bicomponent casting silicone rubbers. Moulds for the production of static scenery. The elastomer can be also used to reproduce characters, animals, scenographic articles etc…
